Step-Up Omaha sets goal of finding jobs for 600 youths in summer 2017

OMAHA, Neb. (Omaha World Herald)  - Last summer, Ta'Laijah Smith, then 15 and Central High School student, attended job-readiness and financial literacy workshops through the Step-Up Omaha program. Now that she’s 16, it’s time to tackle that first job.

“I think I have all the skills,” Smith said at the 2017 kick-off of Step-Up Omaha, held Wednesday morning at Omaha’s Woodmen Tower.

The youth employment program is an initiative of the Empowerment Network in partnership with the City of Omaha.
